Walston Joins Coalition Team as Communications Intern

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – May 16, 2018 – The Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers (CSIF) welcomes Megyn Walston as their 2018 communications intern.

Walston will assist CSIF by coordinating outreach activities, promoting special events and developing content for the organization’s communication channels. She will collaborate with the Coalition to advocate for farmers and publicize CSIF efforts throughout her internship.2018 Communications Intern

Walston will be a senior at Iowa State University this fall majoring in agricultural communications with a double minor in agronomy and public relations. She is currently active in many campus organizations including Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Club, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Ambassadors, CALS Connections magazine and CALS Council. Growing up on a diversified grain and livestock farm in Mahaska County and being an active FFA member inspired her to pursue a degree in agriculture communications.

“Advocating for agriculture and helping farmers has been a passion of mine since high school. I’m excited to work with the Coalition this summer to support farmers and learn more about the livestock industry while expanding my communication skills,” says Walston.

The Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers was created in 2004 by farmers to help farmers raise livestock successfully and responsibly.CSIF is a joint partnership involving the Iowa Beef Industry Council, Iowa Cattleman’s Association, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Iowa Pork Producers Association, Iowa Poultry Association, Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa Turkey Federation and Midwest Dairy Association.
