05-16-2024 in Communications Internship

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA – May 13, 2024 – Bridget Johnson has joined the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers (CSIF) as their 2024 communications intern.

Johnson helps advance CSIF’s mission of supporting farmers as they raise livestock responsibly and successfully through assisting with content creation, event planning, and maintaining strong industry relations.

Johnson will be a Sophomore at Iowa State University (ISU) this fall studying Agriculture and Life Sciences Education and horticulture. In addition to her studies, Johnson is a member of Sigma Alpha Professional Sorority, AgEds Club, and helped to start The Country Swing Club. Before attending ISU, Johnson grew up on her family’s heritage farm located in Bondurant, Iowa. Growing up, she was actively involved in both 4-H and FFA and spent most of her time working on her swine livestock project.

“I was lucky enough to grow up on my family’s heritage farm, which gave me the steppingstones to enter an agricultural field. I found, growing up in a community that has become urbanized, how important the communication of how we produce the food, fiber, and fuel to make the world go round truly is. As the 2024 CSIF intern not only do I have the opportunity to tell the story of Iowa agriculture, but also build strong relationships with Iowa farm families and continue to develop my communication skills,” says Johnson.

CSIF is a non-profit organization that assists livestock farmers who want help interpreting rules and regulations, guidance on good site locations for barns, counsel on enhancing neighbor relations and tips on how to protect the environment at no cost. This positive, solutions-based approach to helping livestock farmers grow is a collaborative effort involving the Iowa Beef Industry Council, Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Iowa Pork Producers Association, Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa Turkey Federation, Midwest Dairy and North Central Poultry Association.  For more information, call 800.932.2436 or visit
