Randy & Deb Kroksh

08-01-2011 in Good Farm Neighbor

The Randy and Deb Kroksh family has been selected to receive the Gary Wergin Good Farm Neighbor award at the Iowa State Fair on Friday, August 12.  Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey will present the award at 1:00 p.m. on the Agriculture Stage in the Agriculture Building.

Randy and Deb along with their children, Melissa, Adam and Brennan raise alfalfa, corn and soybeans as well as maintain a 50-head cow-calf herd on their third generation family farm near Akron.  Randy is also the Akron-Westfield agricultural education teacher and Akron-Westfield FFA Chapter advisor.

The Kroksh’s were nominated by Julie Ann Madden of Akron.  “Randy is the kind of farmer you want as your neighbor,” says Madden.  “He not only has excellent farming practices, but is always willing to help his neighbors and pass on his knowledge to the next generation.”
