“We invite all Iowans to acknowledge their farm neighbors by nominating them for this prestigious award,” said Brian Waddingham, CSIF executive director. “Many farm families demonstrate a strong commitment to their land, their livestock and their communities, and we believe it is important to highlight their success stories.”
Since 2003, the Good Farm Neighbor award has been presented to 119 Iowa farm families who are active in their communities, and go above and beyond as environmental stewards and animal caretakers.“Iowa’s 88,637 farms support a healthy and productive livestock industry,” Waddingham said. “The Good Farm Neighbor award is a reflection of responsible livestock farming.”
Iowan’s may submit their award nominations by filling out the recommendation form available at www.supportfarmers.com/goodfarmneighbor.
The Wergin Good Farm Neighbor award is presented by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and Iowa Ag Radio Network, and is made possible by the financial support of the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers.
