Communications Internship Program

“From traveling across the state of Iowa, writing articles, interviewing farmers and volunteering at the Iowa State Fair, this summer has been full of countless adventures with the Coalition. Although Iowa State has given me incredible opportunities, the experiences I've had with the Coalition couldn't have been found in the classroom."
-Emma Wilson,
2017 Communications Intern

The future of agriculture depends on the involvement of the next generation and the continued success of the livestock and poultry industries. Each year, the Coalition to Support Iowa's Farmers (CSIF) encourages students to take an active role in assisting Iowa's livestock farmers by offering a communications internship.

This summer, CSIF welcomed Emma Wilson as the 2017 Communications Intern.

Wilson assisted CSIF by creating content for the organization’s communications channels and coordinating farmer outreach activities. She also assisted with the day-to-day operations of the organization, including promoting and conducting open houses, workshops and other special events.

Wilson is currently a senior at Iowa State University where she is double-majoring in agricultural communications and journalism. She is active in many student organizations including the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Club and Iowa State Bacon Expo. The Guthrie County native grew up on a diversified grain and livestock farm near Guthrie Center.
