CSIF Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Photo Contest

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – August 4, 2014 – To commemorate a decade of service to Iowa farm families, the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers (CSIF) is sponsoring a photo contest called “Farming is a Family Affair” from August 4 – August 28 through its Facebook page. The photo with the most ‘likes’ will receive an iPad.

“We invite all Iowans to celebrate Iowa’s livestock farm families by participating in this photo contest,” said Brian Waddingham, CSIF executive director. “Most people aren’t aware that 98 percent of Iowa farms are family farms. They may look different today than years ago, but their values and commitment to doing things right is steadfast. This contest is designed to showcase these hard working farm families and the teamwork necessary to be successful on the farm today.”

To enter, email your favorite livestock family farm photo that showcases the work ethic of successful family farms to aswanson@supportfarmers.com. Entrants must be Iowa residents. The photo will then be posted on CSIF’s Facebook page where Iowans will cast their vote by ‘liking’ their favorite photo.

“As we celebrate CSIF’s decade of service, we want to honor Iowa’s farm families who have made the Coalition what it is today,” Waddingham said. “We are excited to continue our work with Iowa’s farm families for years to come.”

Since the organization’s launch in 2004, CSIF’s focus has been helping livestock and poultry farmers of all sizes grow responsibly and successfully.  Over the last 10 years, the Coalition has proudly assisted 2,700 of Iowa’s farm families.

The Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers was created by farmers to help farmers raise livestock successfully and responsibly. It’s a joint partnership involving the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Iowa Pork Producers Association, Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa Turkey Federation and Midwest Dairy Association. The non-profit, non-partisan organization provides assistance to farmers at no cost. CSIF does not lobby or develop policy.
