Brian Sampson's Testimonial
“After college, if our son, Bryce, decides to come home to the family farm, the first call I’ll make is to the Coalition. The CSIF team has the knowledge and expertise we need to responsibly grow our cattle feedlot and make sure our farm stays in the family for years to come.”
- Brian and Deb Sampson
Story County cattle producer Brian Sampson is a 5th generation farmer. If his son, Bryce, chooses a career in farming, he will be the sixth.
The Sampson family has a 1500 head cattle feedlot near Nevada. Brian along with his wife, Deb, and their children Bryce and Alex were recently recognized as recipients of the Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award.
"Brian and Deb are a great example of the many farm families in Iowa that take great pride in caring for their animals and their land while also being actively involved in their community,” Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey said. “This is a family that has gone above and beyond to do what is right and it is great that we are able to recognize them for all their work.”
As with many Iowa farm families, making decisions to successfully bring the next generation back to the farm can be difficult. Fortunately, the Sampson family knows the Coalition to Support Iowa's Farmers (CSIF) is there to help them when they are ready to make that big step.
