The Tim and Beva Lupkes family of Clarke County will be recognized with the Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award on Monday, August 21st at the Truro Community Center, 100 S. Railroad St., Truro, IA. 50257. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Bill Northey, will present the award to the family.

In 2001, fourth generation farmer Tim Lupkes planted new farm roots in southern Iowa when he took a job as a lineman with the Rural Electric Cooperative in Clarke County. Relocating to a new community with different farming terrain presented challenges for the Lupkes family, but thanks to the guidance and support of their rural neighborhood, Tim and his wife, Beva, were able to slowly grow the farm and a build a new tradition for their three children.

“Neighbors are important just to have them around if you ever need help. We help them and they help us, and I’ve been blessed with good neighbors everywhere I’ve been.” – Tim Lupkes, Clarke County Pork Producer and Cattleman
