What: Calving Under Roof Informational Meeting
When: January 8, 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Where: Iowa Speedway, Newton
Directions: From I-80, take exit 168. Go south on Iowa Speedway Dr. Turn right on Rusty Wallace Dr.
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch. Featured speakers will include Bill Iams, a Pennsylvania cattleman who has been successfully calving under roof for 5 years; Dr. Grant Dewell of ISU will address health considerations; CSIF Field Specialist Kent Mowrer will explain the rules and regulations that apply; and a panel of farmers will discuss raising cows and calves under roof. The day will wrap up with a tour of an Accu-Steel cattle barn. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required.
